Write a Brochure for your School

Challenge
How can you convince parents that your school or class is the ‘place to be’?

Prepare a draft of a brochure.

  • What would you say?
  • What do you believe in?
  • What are you about?
  • What are you trying to accomplish?
  • What values are important?
  • What can the children/parents expect?
  • How is the curriculum arranged?
  • What does it include?
  • How are the children organised?
  • How are individual differences catered for?
  • How are programmes and progress monitored?
Procedure for a School Brochure
  1. As a Staff and /or Board of Trustees, mind-map ideas listed above.
  2. If in groups, share ideas with other groups to make a school-wide mind map.
  3. Elect a school-wide team to edit and plan a layout lay-out for approval by all involved
Another idea: Plan your Own Performance Agreement
Write a letter to your principal/Board of Trustees, making your expectations explicit, outlining what you want to achieve for the year, the resources needed and the consequences. This could be the basis for your performance agreement.
