This site comes to you from New Plymouth, Taranaki, the western 'edge' of the North Island of New Zealand. It is said all true innovative ideas come from the edge and teaching is no exception. Over the years, we have had, and still have in Taranaki some wonderfully creative teachers and innovative principals who have helped their students achieve exciting work far beyond what you might expect. We are equally sure there are pockets of innovative teachers all around NZ (and throughout the world) and, if so, you are the people we hope will enjoy our site. We appreciate that being a creative teacher is not always easy but if this site gives you the courage to stand up for your beliefs it will have been worthwhile. There are also so many exiting new developments about how people learn, from teaching thinking to multiple intelligence’s to learn about. Many confirm teacher’s intuitive beliefs while others provide new insights to challenge us. We will be listing our favourite books and web sites that might be of use to you.
